

Web Design Trends of 2021

As a web designer, I’m always looking for something intriguing and modern to inspire me. While collecting inspiration for my designs, like modzee.com, I’ve noticed a few trends this year that really stick out not only to me as a designer but as a consumer.
1.
Motion Design
Motion design has caught its stride over the last few years. Most award-winning websites incorporate some aspect of motion. Motion is a powerful web design tool that, if executed correctly, will intrigue and engage the user and leave a lasting impression. There are many remarkable examples which portray the limitless possibilities of motion design to a website.

Large Type
Playing with the scale of typography can leave a lasting impression on the user. Typography plays a vital role in setting the tone and message of a website.

Offset and Overlap
This web design trend is everywhere, and it’s not hard to see why. Designers are always trying to push the limit of the grid. Responsive web design has advanced dramatically over the past several years. With improvements in media queries and CSS advancements like flexbox, these advancements have given designers more grid capabilities.
4.
Engaging Scrolling
Mobile phones have re-birthed scrolling. Now, we’re used to endless scrolling, and we scroll instinctively. What was once taboo in website design has made a complete resurrection as one of the most popular techniques. Scrolling is reinventing itself as a core interaction design element, and It’s a great way to tell a story. It’s time to embrace the scroll and use it to our advantage.
